A month or so ago, I saw what looked to be an identical dress in purple at the Loft Outlet. Seeing as I love this dress, I eagerly grabbed it and headed to the dressing room. Upon further inspection, I noticed two major things:

(1) No lining. This dress is linen and my original dress has a lining.
(2) No piping detail at the hem and neckline. The piping really gives it a finished look.

So I didn't get the dress and really realized how some of the outlet clothes cheapen their items for the sake of the bargain. Now I've gotten some great items from the outlet mall. However, I'm really starting to notice these details. How about you? Have you ever noticed this at your favorite brand's outlet?

I co-hosted a baby shower for a close friend on Saturday. I picked up this little dress at Ross for $12.99. I didn't even try it on--just hoped for the best ;)

Recent Purchases

I've been striking out at my usual shopping places (TJ Maxx, Ross, Dillards Clearance Center). I had read some tweets about the salae at Dillard's (30% off all clearance prices). I knew I wouldn't have an opportunity to get out to my brick and mortar Dillards. Luckily, there were great deals to be had on Dillards website. The silver shoes are Antonio Melani. The dress is Cremeiux . I’ve never worn this brand so I’m a little nervous about the fit.

On Saturday, I passed by Talbots while en route to my in-laws. The Red Hangar sale was going on. This is the best time of year to stock up on Talbots. Their regular prices are beyond my reach, so the extra 40% off makes the items more attainable. I already wore the navy eyelet shorts to a cookout yesterday! I also signed up for their rewards card (no fee) so I could get an extra 10% off! The total for the 3 items was a shade over $60. Score!

J and I have just been hanging out today. Back to work tomorrow. Hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day!
