Our furbaby, Truffle
Today, I'm participating in a link up at Mrs. Monologues' blog called Fur Baby Friday. If you have read this blog for a while, you may have seen our darling pup, Truffle, when he has photobombed my OOTD pics. Here is how Truffle came to our family.
J and I had wanted a dog for a while. My sister's friend asked us back in February 2011 if we would be interested in adopting her dog, Truffle. She was pregnant and had other animals--she didn't feel that she could take care of Truffle and give him the attention he deserved. We had never met Truffle but fell in love with him through pics and stories from my sis.
However, her husband decided he didn't want to adopt out Truffle by himself. They had another dog and he wanted them to go together. We were saddened by the news. Truffle was our dog! However, we resigned ourselves that he was not coming. We committed to find another dog by our anniversary (April 19th).
Well, we half heartedly looked at other dogs on various rescue sites, but never found one who touched us the way Truffle did. Low and behold, we met our anniversary deadline and no dog. However, on the night of our anniversary, we got an email from my sister's friend, asking if we were still interested in Truffle. What an anniversary gift!! Of course, we said yes. A month later, Truffle joined our family!
Truffle celebrated his 2nd birthday in January. He is a lab/chow/shepherd mix. He is smart, walks with great posture and is very loving. He does have a bit of "hipster dog" attitude and can be a loner sometimes. He likes to sleep, show his belly, bark at the neighbors and suspicious people, and play with his stuffed hedgehog and durabone. We have watched him grow in his confidence and love him more every day!
Here are two of my favorite pictures of Truffle...
Oh my goodness what a sweetie. He looks like he loves you just as much. Thank you so much for linking up.
