Friday 1.21

This is what I wore on my last day of training facilitator class. I had to give a 30 minute training on delegation. Normally I would wear a higher heel, but I didn't want to risk the chance of hurting/tripping during the presentation!

Dresses are so easy, aren't they? If I had a uniform for winter, it would be a tunic dress, black tights and black heels. I try to mix it up but as you can see, I don't do the best job with that!

I did a little retail therapy during my lunch hour today. I had just passed my first training demo, so I decided to reward myself with something from the Dillard's Clearance Center. I'm excited to wear these shoes once Spring comes around!

The long weekend was great! Aside from organizing my closet, I watched some good and some disappointing football and relaxed.

Today's outfit has a dress that I just had shortened 1.5 inches. I haven't worn this dress since April. That's how long it took me to get it to dry cleaners to be altered! For shame!

Inspired by Sarah of Classroom Chic, I cleaned and purged my closet (well J and I actually share a closet). I decided to also complete an inventory to help identify any holes in my wardrobe. Thursday 1.13 + update on shoe saga

I really love this dress--from the neckline to the print, love it!

Also, you have seen that I've been struggling to find my perfect black platform heel. The first pair I tried were the Franco Sarto Luxe Heels. They were a too big and honestly, I don't think I'm ready for the heel! Baby steps :)

The second pair I ordered were the Naturalizer Lennox, I wrote a review in my last post. Super cute, but at $80.00, I don't think I should have to make these work for me.

I was ready to take a break from the search. However, TJ Maxx saved the day! I stopped by to look for more tights. As I wandered through the shoe aisle (conveiniently through my shoe size), I spotted Black Platform Bandolinos! Could it be? Could they fit me and save me money??

Review: Naturalizer Lennox shoes

I have been coveting these shoes for quite a long time! I finally ordered them and received them yesterday. I wore them to work today. My thoughts?

Pros

1. Looks like the picture
2. Stylish
3. Great N5 technology makes them nice & cushy

Cons

1. My foot slipped out of the shoe all day
2. The toe box was narrow and rubbed my pinky toe all day
3. Too much "toe cleveage""

I'm disappointed. Maybe I had too high of hopes? I also should have read the reviews more carefully. I'm going to give myself a few more days to think about it, but most likely, these are going back.

Maybe I just need to buy shoes the old fashioned way--in person!

Tuesday 1.11

I checked the weather report when I got back from the gym this morning. I swear it said our high was to be in the 60's today and the sun would come out. WRONG! It never got above the low 50's plus no sun. I would have worn a thicker sweater to work had I know that.

I call this my 101 Dalmations dress! Also today is the first and only time you will see the Franco Sarto heels I ordered from Piperlime. I should have really taken heed to the reviews. These were just a little too big. I kept slipping out of them. Sad. Back to Piperlime they go. I don't think sizing down will help because it is like 1/4 inch too big. Back to the drawing board!

Story on this necklace. This is the second time J has bought me this necklace. The first time was my 28th birthday (eeeep, seems so long ago!). He came up to Chicago to visit me and gave me this lovely necklace! Fast forward two years later, I lose this necklace. No clue where it went! I was MORTIFIED. J was cool about it of course. He knew how much I missed the necklace, so he bought me another one :) I promise to be more responsible this time!!!

Goodbye Shopping Moratorium, Hello 2011!

The shopping moratorium ended on Christmas. That coupled with post-Christmas sales resulted in a bit of a shopping spree. For those of you who have been reading, you know I love a bargain! I am sharing the prices on what I bought only to show what great deals I got! My only splurge were the black Franco Sarto heels that I ordered from Piperlime. For the quality, I think they were still a great deal--just not a "bargain".

J scored some great deals at J. Crew. Once his order arrives, I'll share what he got!
