Friday 4.30

No outfit pics today :( I woke up uber early to drive 1.5 hours to another office. Then drove home and headed over to my bff/gay boyfriend's house to tag stuff for our yard sale tomorrow! He used to work at Pottery Barn so there are a lot of those items for sale, plus clothes, books, home decor etc. So I'm finally home and look like poo. I'll spare you the trauma :)

However, in positive shopping news: Ann Taylor Loft outlet has put all their spring items on clearance. I scored a khaki skirt, black pencil skirt and slim cute jeans for $70 total. They had tons of cute items. I practiced great restraint, ladies!

Finally, for Andie, I'm posting a few rehearsal dinner/wedding pics from 2 years ago!

Check out my long hair!!

Thursday 4.29

A co-worker told me I was "workin' it" with my dress today. Made my day! I love how people think wearing a dress means you are dressed up. In actually, it's the easiest thing to throw on when you are running late for work. I do think I should hem it an inch or so..maybe I'll look a little taller?

Dress: Tiana B via Ross. Bought for $14.99. Not sure why JC Penney's is selling it for much more!
Shoes: Anne Klein via TJ Maxx

Madras Shirt: J Crew
Jeans: Banana Republic
Flip Flops: Hollister

Splurge vs. Steal

I love when I see a Splurge vs. Steal look in a fashion blog, magazine, etc. I happened upon my own while on my lunch break today. I have always wanted to own a pair of Stephen Bonnanos.

I am too cheap, thrifty, fiscally conservative etc to splurge on these. The lovilies above retail for $125. One day!!

However, I can rock a knock-off, ahem, I mean, an "inspired" look.

$19.99 - Payless

Yay!

I work in a business casual environment. Thankfully, we can wear open toed shoes! How about J? Their only requirement is they need to wear clothes! :) Seriously, they can wear shorts, flip flops etc. However, J is typically more put together than that when he goes to work, much to the gentle ribbing of some co-workers.

Monday Night Dinner

I'm pretty lucky. J cooks dinner for me most weeknights (hm, yes and weekends too). I enjoy cooking, but J is way more adept than I am. For Monday's meal, he prepared grilled porkchops with zucchini "pancakes". Delicious!!

Obsession

J and I are obsessed with food. Cooking it, eating it, talking about it. I found this picture of our coffee table books (taken by J on his fancy, too technical for me camera). I think this sums it up.

Welcome!

My husband and I have contemplated blogging together. We toyed with a couple of ideas, including giving our "he said/she said" arguments. However, lighthearted blogging really is the way to go. So here we are. So what will be talk about? We imagine it will be some cooking, some shopping (disclosure: my hubby has lost 80 lbs. over the past year, so he is all about the shopping), and some glimpses of our everyday life. Can't guarantee there will be anything salacious or juicy, but it will at least be a little fun.

So in honor of our inaugural post, a picture from our 2nd wedding anniversary celebrated this month!

Hubby (now referred to as J): Blazer - Gap; Shirt - Banana Republic; Slacks - Banana Republic; Shoes: Kenneth Cole

Me: Dress - Ann Taylor Outlet; Cardigan - Bealls; ; Necklace - Forever 21; Shoes - Anne Klein via TJ Maxx (not seen but they are black peep toe wedges).

Thanks for stopping by!

Love, N
