Going to the other side...

Last consignment season, I went nuts. I went to almost every sale in Jacksonville. And you know what? Jack didn't even wear half of the clothes! So lesson learned--restraint needs to be practiced. This season, I decided to "go to the other side" and consign some of his items. I had bought several jon-jons via Smocking Hot Mamas and Southern Tots on Facebook. He also had some items with tags still on them! I consigned 14 items in all, including our Snap and Go stroller.

After identifying my items, I registered with WeeTrade to sell. I did not know the first thing about pricing items though! After a little googling research, I used the pricing guide on Consignment Mommies. WeeTrade (like most other consignment sales) had a user friendly website where we could enter our items, print out our tags, sign up for a drop off appointment, and (most importantly) see what was sold!

Side note: I had a heck of a time finding card stock to use for my tags! I ended up buying a multicolor pack from Staples. I could only use white, so I guess I'll have to think of something crafty (ha, who am I kidding?) to do with it.

Anyways, I was nervous on the drop off day! I wondered if my items would "pass muster". Luckily, they did. I was amazed at what other people were dropping off. I had very little. I saw moms with over 100 items to sell! Amazing!

Since we are moving soon (more on that in another post), I decided to skip the shopping and only consign this time around. I just got my check and boy was I pleasantly surprised...

$97.13!!!

Good thing as we need to put that towards new car seats soon. :)

What I'm Loving: Baby Sniffles Edition

Jack had his first cold a month ago. Considering J and I both suffer from seasonal allergies, I figured Jack would be the same. The above products are in my mommy arsenal to fight the runny nose.

(1) Saline Drops - I use Target's generic brand of saline drops. They help keep the nasal cavity moist and loosen the hard mucus that may be get stuck up there.

(2) Boogie Wipes - Boogie Wipes are saline wipes. They comes in a variety of scents, but I prefer the non-scented ones. They can be purchased at Target, Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby. However, I like to order them from Drugstore.com as they are Buy 3, Get 1 Free. Drugstore.com also has a reward dollar program AND you can use Ebates!

(3) NoseFrida - NoseFrida is an alternative to the traditional syringe bulb. I heard about the NoseFrida from Twitter and cannot say enough good things about it. I love sharing how well it works for us with fellow moms. I love it for 2 big reasons: (1) You control the level of suck. (2) You can see what comes out!

Not pictured is our Rock n Play. Jack has been sleeping in his crib since 6 or 7 weeks old. But when he got a cold, we let him sleep in the RnP to help with the drainage. I definitely think it helped!

Any other products I should know about?

Could this really be the same baby?

I finally found my elusive camera cord! Jack's 1 month picture had been trapped on my camera. I decided to do a side by side comparison of his 1 month to 3 month picture. All I have to say is, Could this really be the same baby??

How I Met Your Mother

When Jeff and I first met as work buddies in 2005, he told me about this new show, How I Met Your Mother. I was living in Chicago at the time and he was in Florida. It was the show's first season. Lily and Marshall were not yet married. Ted was with Robin. Barney was Barney.

At the end of season 6 (Spring 2011), Lily reveals that she is pregnant and spends Season 7 pregnant. It was pretty funny to us. We found out we were expecting in November, so "Lily" and I were pregnant together.

Season 8 premiered a few weeks ago and showed a sleep deprived Marshall and Lily with their newborn son, Martin. Again, funny as we were the sleep deprived ones just a month prior. Also, I was yelling at the TV that they needed to swaddle Baby Martin!

It has been fun having this show to share with each other through the life of our relationship. Seven years goes by quickly!

I think this should be the last season. I'm ready to see who is the mother! Anyone else watching?

Jack in Review

Anyone else obsessed with making collages on Picasa? Since I imported my Instagram pictures onto my laptop, I've been even more obsessed. So, what better subject to "collage" than my 2 month old son!

Speaking of Jack, he is 24.5 inches long and weighs 13.25 lbs! We just started using size 2 diapers too. YIKES!
